Hello everyone! Well, if you are here, I believe it’s because you love reading scary or sci-fi stories or hopefully both and want to know a little bit more about me- “the writer”. If not, I don’t know what you’re doing up here. But Hey! Maybe you came here by chance and you may end up liking the content, who knows? Anyway, let us begin with my biography:
My Origins
My name is Alex and I am the person that, little by little, is going to be writing the stories you will be able to find in here, at The Dark Tales.
I was born in Pamplona, Spain, in a tiny city located in Navarre. My childhood, I guess was like most people’s. It had its ups and downs but overall, it could be considered normal. When I was 17, I created my first (and only) music band. We had lots of fun composing punk rock music and making loud noises. We even recorded a studio album with 12 songs! At the same time, I had just started my undergrad in Business Administration. It wasn’t as good as expected but it helped me narrowing down my areas of interest, as well as to become more responsible and grow up as a person.
The Lost Muse
Once I was done with my undergrad, I was lost! It was the moment of truth; when I was meant to find a job related to my studies and begin with my professional career. Months were passing by and I couldn’t find anything that I liked and, to be honest, I didn’t know what to do. During that period of time, I had a REVELATION. After watching Quentin Tarantino’s “The Hateful Eight“, I felt a powerful desire to start writing my own movie script- to begin with telling my own stories.
Right after this moment, I continued looking for jobs while also trying to research about how to write movie scripts and of course, I spent plenty of time thinking about “what could be this story about?”
The Next Step
After realising that I wasn’t going to be able to find my ideal job in my territory, I decided to move to Brighton, UK, to improve my English language. After almost 2 years working and polishing my English level, I decided it was time to study something that I really liked and was going to be useful to help me attain my goals. In 2018, I began my International Marketing MSc at the University of Sussex. In the end, most of the things surrounding us could be considered products, right? So, why not study something that would give me the knowledge to market my ideas?
This 1-year Master was an amazing experience. I met incredible people, and I was taught by wonderful professors who helped me learn many interesting things about the broad marketing landscape. That’s when I finally felt I was ready for anything.
Pretty much this personal evolution and experiences, are the ones that have shaped me and encouraged me to decide on creating this website. To create a place where I could utilise my creativity —a platform where you could read and dive into my stories.
